Suggester says, "This reached out and grabbed my eye. The composition - in my non-expert opinion - is excellent. The white umbrella, balanced by his dark jacket, draws the eye directly to her facial expression, framed by her hair. The fence, trees, and plants add just the right amount of texture to complete the photograph. This is one to be proud of!" Serena + Daniel Wedding IV by =canuckgurl22

This is truly beautiful. I've been hired to do wedding photography, do you have any tips or advice?

Thank you, Paige :) I'd recommend networking with some local photographers you know asking to second shoot some weddings with them for free. This is really important, weddings are very fast paced with little time to think. So it's great to have experience of a typical wedding timeline, especially the ceremony. Have a back up camera, back up batteries (cameras do fail, I have had a 40D temporary give me an Error message at a wedding and didn't work till I took the battery out.. totally freaky). Make sure you know your camera/equipment inside out, I'd recommend picking up a used full frame camera. The original Canon 5D is now about $700 used, it's what I'm using (though I paid double ha). The quality and noise-grain will be so much better in low light (often ceremonies and receptions). Make sure you have a few fast lenses, if you're on a tight budget the $100 50mm 1.8 will work. Just make sure you have a zoom and wider angle too. I love natural light, but I use a flash at every wedding too(I'm using the 430 EXII now, but upgrading to the 580 EXII). You will need it for either the ceremony or reception (unless everything is in broad daylight. You can also rent lenses, flashes and cameras for pretty cheap!

Do the couple's engagement photos to get them comfortable in front of the camera as well. Do other couples/engagement shoots as well for the experience, this will really help with posing ideas for the wedding day. Check out wedding blogs like Green Wedding Shoes and Wedding Chicks or even Pinterest for photo inspiration.

If you need any more help or tips, you can email me. I don't check dA on a daily basis :)
